How to frame awork of art?
One mistake is to choose a frame to match your home or office decor rather than a frame to complement the art. The frame can make as much of an impact as the artwork.
Frame for the long haul, using acid-free matting materials.
The smaller the artwork, the larger the mat. A white or cream mat is preferable or choose black for more drama. For certain works, a floating mat can vault the work. Make sure the work does not touch the glass.
Oil paint on canvas should hang in indirect sunlight. While you could skip the glass and matt for these works, you may still want to surround the work with modeling (frame).
Find a good frame who will keep the visual simple. This will give you more flexibility if you change of decor. Usually a white, black or natural wood frame is best because it will not take away from the beauty of the artwork.
Sometimes a contemporary work can be set into an antique frame, and classic art can be stunning in a modern frame.

What is cubism?

Cubism is an early-20th-century avant-garde art movement that revolutionized European painting and sculpture. Pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, cubism inspired related movements in music, literature and architecture.
In this genre of artwork, objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form. Instead of depicting objects from a single viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context, using simple geometric shapes, interlocking planes, and, later, collage.
Cubism has been considered the most influential art movement of the 20th century. The term is broadly used in association with a wide variety of art produced in Paris (Montmartre and Montparnasse) or near Paris (Puteaux) during the 1910s and throughout the 1920s.
